CPC coders: your coding expertise can decide federal payment disputes —

remotely, on your schedule.

Every day, out-of-network providers and health plans disagree on what a service is worth. Under the No Surprises Act, those disputes go to a certified IDR entity, which reviews the evidence and issues a binding payment determination.

The credibility of that determination hinges on coding expertise — someone who can read an itemized bill, assess coding accuracy, evaluate the qualifying payment amount (QPA), and spot what’s defensible and what’s not.

That someone could be you.

Network Medical Review is a certified IDR entity, and we’re recruiting CPC-certified coding specialists to join our national, remote panel of independent arbitrators.

This is 1099, per-dispute, fully remote work. Pick up disputes when you want. No minimum commitment. No commute.

What you’d do:

  • Conduct impartial review of payment offers and supporting documentation from both disputing parties
  • Apply the No Surprises Act framework, QPA rules, and federal IDR regulations
  • Screen for conflicts of interest on each assigned dispute
  • Author clear, defensible written determinations within federally mandated timeframes

What we’re looking for:

  • Active CPC credential through AAPC — required (CCS, COC, or CRC a plus)
  • 3+ years of coding and claims experience
  • Experience with out-of-network billing, payer adjudication, or revenue cycle — preferred
  • Comfort working independently and meeting firm deadlines
  • Willingness to complete training consistent with federal IDRE requirements

Why Network Medical Review:

  • 100% remote — work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Competitive per-dispute compensation
  • Mission-critical work — your expertise directly shapes fair, compliant outcomes

If you’re a certified coder looking for flexible, meaningful work that values your expertise at a whole new level — let’s talk.
